Does anyone know if that's really true?

I dunno if its really true but very shortly after we graduated "I heard"  Doug passed on from throat cancer.

I remember my mother told me that Doug had cancer.  She knew Thelma Tabor and said Thelma had told her.   My mother did not tell me the type of cancer.   I cannot recall a specific year, but I'm pretty sure I was in my 20s or 30s.  Perhaps someone can fill in more details.

In 1979 I was having my knee operated on at Glover Memorial and Doug came by to see me.  He was a patient and was being treated for some type of cancer.

Sadly, I remember Doug passed away shortly (few years) after we graduated.

I remember Dougie in 6th grade. A great athlete and handsome! Gone much too soon.

Dougie and I were teammates and pitchers for 4 years on the little league Yankees.  He was the best player in the league and he went on to be the captain of our high school team.  Very talented.  Great guy.
